Dellie Rex, Senior Wine Instructor at New England Culinary Institute (NECI), has over 26 years’ experience in all phases of the wine business. She has worked at the retail, wholesale and supplier levels. For thirteen years, she ran her own regional marketing company for fine wines. A wine educator, Ms. Rex also ran a wine education service for many years in the Boston area. She served as Adjunct Professor of Wine Appreciation at Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration for thirteen years. In August of 2005, Ms Rex accepted the position of Senior Wine Instructor for NECI where she teaches courses in beverage studies in all three degree programs.
In June 2006, Delmar Learning published About Wine, a textbook for college students of culinary arts and hospitality administration, co-authored by Ms. Rex. The book is also intended to serve as a general reference for adult consumers of wine.
Ms. Rex is a graduate of L’Academie du Vin in Paris, and holds an MBA degree from Babson College. She is a member of the Society of Wine Educators, La Commanderie de Bordeaux, and Les Dames d’Escoffier, and serves on the Board of the Liz Bishop Wine Resource Center in Boston. In 2001, Boston Magazine cited Dellie as one of the 50 Most Intriguing Women in New England, and described her as "the wine expert’s wine expert".
