Sean Callahan has been a full-time Artist for the past fourteen years.  He resides In Vermont, which provides him much inspiration while painting.  Two years ago, Sean opened Dog Tired Studio in Vergennes, Vermont, which houses his studio and gallery.

As an artist, Sean is drawn to the luminosity and transparency of watercolor.  He pushes the medium to its limits using thick paint next to subtle thin washes of color in much of his work.   He is skilled at incorporating patterns found in nature, and taking simple objects and casting unique compositions experimenting with light, shadow and color.  In the past few years he has focused on dogs as his subject matter.  “I have never met a dog I didn’t like”, states Sean.    His passion for dogs clearly resonates through his paintings, as time and time again he captures the soul in the eyes of his subjects.
