Reading the Landscape – Understanding Your Role in Your Environment:

This tour will explore the intricacies of the natural world and how they are all connected. All living things, non-living entities, and natural events have an impact on each other. This dynamic occurs in the business world. The key to understanding your impact in nature or in the office is being able to recognize these connections. On this tour, your group will learn how the wildlife, plant-life, weather, natural events, and non-living entities impact each other and work together to create the ecosystems around us. We will utilize our observational skills to gather information from the natural world, then we’ll draw correlations between what we have learned and how it applies to the business world. This is an informative and enlightening tour that will make your group look at both the natural world and the office in a different way.

Natural History Tour – Getting to Know the Natural World:

We will explore a natural area of Vermont in canoes and kayaks, by hiking, or a combination of both. The tour will focus on discovering the natural history of the area, which includes the wildlife, plant-life, natural dynamics, geology, land-use, and conservation in the area we’re exploring. We’ll learn bird songs, observe nesting birds, learn about the role of different plants in the ecosystem, explore spots off the beaten path, and discuss how the area changes throughout the year. This is a great tour for just getting out of the office and relaxing, and your group will come away with a new appreciation for the natural world.

Nature Scavenger Hunt:

This tour is a team-building exercise focused on learning about the wildlife, plant-life, and the environment around us. We’ll explore a natural area to find specific birds or plants, answer questions about relationships between different parts of the ecosystem, learn interesting or amazing facts about Vermont’s natural world, and discover the sights and sounds around us. Partners will be able to explore together or individually, from canoes/kayaks and on foot. We will find out which team has the best observational skills and worked best together to discover the most about the natural world around us. The winners will win a great nature tour prize package.

Vermont Birder’s Tour:

This tour is for the birds! Explore the great diversity of bird life in Vermont’s natural spaces with your group. We’ll learn the sights and sounds of the birds around us, and we’ll discover amazing facts about the species we encounter. Using binoculars and spotting scopes, we’ll try to get up close and personal with many species of birds. Using our ears, we’ll get to know them on a musical level. We’ll paddle and hike to find a diversity of species in a variety of habitats, and each person will create their own field guide with descriptions, sketches, and interesting facts about the birds. This tour will test your reflexes and your patience, as a duck may fly by at 50 mph, or a sweet singing songbird may sit only feet away from us, but never show itself. This is a fun and interesting tour for the bird lover in all of us.
