Ship-to-Shore Communications

Is there phone access on board?

Unfortunately, not. Personal cell phone service is intermittent throughout the lake. No cell phone usage is permitted in public spaces on board the yacht, for everyone's enjoyment of a relaxing vacation experience.

Is there internet access on board?

The Moonlight lady is Wi-Fi capable. Consistent coverage is not guaranteed. Many ports of call have locations with Wi-Fi capabilities. Additional charges may apply.

Is there television on board?

There is a fine collection of DVD movies to be enjoyed in our lounge, located on the Admiral deck. There is not a cable or satellite signal for television viewing.

Life On-Board

What is the smoking policy?

The Moonlight Lady is 100% smoke free. This encompasses a ban on all open flames including the use of candles. Smoking policies vary at docks and marinas at various ports of call. Vermont Discovery Cruises claims no responsibility for such policies.

Are there medical facilities on board?

There is not a doctor on board the boat. Crew members are Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid.

Are there laundry services available on board?

Not at this time.

Is the Cruise narrated?

As we approach points of interest the Captain, Expedition Leader and other staff members will share their knowledge and experience in the history and geology of the area.

Stateroom Amenities

Each Stateroom is outfitted with two comfortable single beds, one bathroom with sink, toilet and overhead shower. Each stateroom is provided with Vermont sundries, towels, and limited under-bed storage space for luggage storage. Each stateroom has one electrical outlet.

Each stateroom has two generous windows for viewing the lake and surrounding scenery. All stateroom windows are outfitted with room darkening treatments to make your sleeping experience more enjoyable.

Photographic Opportunities

Will I see wildlife?

The Lake Champlain region supports a wide array of wildlife. You may observe birds, deer, turtles, or other creatures.

Are there good places to take photographs from on the boat?

Yes, the boat offers a variety of places to view wildlife and capture photographs.

Food & Beverage

Can I Drink Alcohol On Board?

Alcohol Policy: The minimum age for the purchase and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages on board is 21 years of age. Vermont Discovery Cruises reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcoholic beverages to anyone. In the event that any staff member is in question that a guest is less than 21 years old, they shall request picture identification, prior to serving any alcoholic beverage.

Can I bring my own alcohol?

As per Vermont State law: No alcohol for the purpose of personal consumption while on-board the boat is permitted. Any alcohol purchased at ports-of-call will be stored on-board by a staff member and retained by Vermont Discovery Cruises until the end of the voyage.

Are there on-board beverages?

Coffee/tea/ bottled water is complimentary to all guests and is available from 6:30am until 10:00pm, and with all meals.

Soft beverages and premium waters are available for purchase on-board, on the sky deck between the hours of 7:00am and 11:00pm.

Bar service is available from 12:00pm until 11:00pm daily on the sky deck. (Please see the alcohol policy)

Meals are served at times designated in each cruise itinerary. All meals are served on the sky deck.

Can special dietary requests be accommodated?

Having a small kitchen space with limited storage capacities, a limited number of dietary restrictions may be accommodated. Please contact us at a minimum of one week in advance of your departure date with any reasonable dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you. ( Contact Us Page) You may also outline this information in the comments portion of the booking page upon booking your cruise.

Our Chef is able to accommodate: vegetarian, low sodium, and bland meals upon advance request. Unfortunately at this time, baby food and Kosher meals are not available. We only carry 1% milk, half and half on board the yacht. We are unable to accommodate guests with severe nut allergies.

About the Moonlight Lady

Our staff is totally committed to exceeding your expectations in every way possible. If you are not satisfied with the services that you receive, we encourage you to discuss this with the Expedition Leader while on board.

Gratuity is a nautical tradition. No gratuities have been included in your fare.

Suggested gratuities equate to 10% of the total fare per person and are distributed amongst the crew members for Stateroom Service, Dining Room Service, Culinary Theater Experiences and Guest Speakers.

For beverage purchases, a 15% gratuity is automatically added on to your bill.

Tipping the expedition leader or other staff members is at your discretion, based upon the services received.

On the final morning of the voyage envelopes are provided in guest rooms, and guests may choose to tip in the method that they see fit.

Disembarkation

Crew will assist guests in placing luggage at the stern of the boat on the horizon deck. Please have your luggage prepared for crew to pick up from your stateroom half an hour prior to disembarkation (Approximately 9:45 am on the final day of the cruise.)

Disembarkation takes place at the Burlington Boathouse at 0 College St. Burlington, Vermont. This is also the dock of our sister ship, the Spirit of Ethan Allen III .
